The International Homeopathy Day is organised in close cooperation with the European Committee for Homeopathy (ECH) to support individual national homeopathic medical associations in their activities to promote the position of homeopathy in the national health care system. This annual event also celebrates the birthday of Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, and therefore takes place around the date of April 10.
LMHI-France organised this year, on 10th of April - World Homeopathy Day - in Paris, the celebration of 270th Anniversary of Samuel Hahnemann’s birth, a man whose legacy continues to inspire and guide many homeopaths around the world. At a time when medicine was still struggling to find its way, when treatments were sometimes as dangerous as the diseases themselves, Hahnemann dared to challenge established doctrines. He did not simply practice medicine - he reinvented it : a medicine based on careful listening to the body, on the harmony between humans and their environment, and on a subtle yet profound approach to healing. We started our event with a Parisian walk tracingSamuel Hahnemann’s footsteps.
Documents:The official celebration of World Homeopathy Day (WHD) took place this year 2024 in Mexico. Mexico is a special country for Homeopathy for several reasons: it is the first country where its teaching and professional practice was made official in 1895 and with this event the National Homeopathic Hospital (NHH) was founded, a public hospital that still operates today, and the National School of Homeopathic Medicine (today Escuela Nacional de Medicina y Homeopatía del Instituto Politécnico Nacional (ENMYH)), a public university that trains undergraduate and postgraduate homeopathic physicians. In addition, Mexico is the birthplace of several illustrious homeopathic physicians such as Dr. Proceso Sánchez Ortega, who made great contributions to Hahnemannian homeopathy, especially to the study of Hahnemann's Miasmas or chronic diseases, he founded the Postgraduate School of Homeopatia de Mexico (HDM) and was the teacher of many members of the International Homeopathic Medical League (LMHI) including several of its presidents, among them Dr. Ulrich Fischer, Dr. Renzo Galassi and Dr. José Matuk Kanan. Another reason is that there is a great demand for homeopathy by society, so that there are colleges and associations of homeopathic physicians in almost all regions of the country and new homeopathic physicians are trained every year.

HSA lined up a series of exciting celebrations which took place from the 10th – 14th April 2023, where we celebrated homeopathy at an important location for homeopathy in South Africa.

Documents:One of this year’s celebrations of the World Homeopathy Day, in remembrance of Samuel Hahnemann’s birthday, took place in Philadelphia, which is, ostensibly, a cradle of homeopathy since the middle of the 19th century, with the advent of Constantin Hering, Adolph Lippe, Henry N Guernsey, Ernest Farrington, James T Kent, and others, who have influenced the practice of homeopathy by providing clear and well documented cases to prove the efficacy of homeopathic medicine even in critical conditions, in hundreds of patients.

Special attention is paid to the official statement made by the Prosecutor General’s Office and the State Duma of the Russian Federation on whether it is lawful to use homeopathy in Russia and on the viewpoint held by some scientists concerning the Memorandum “On the Pseudoscientific Character of Homeopathy” as not being a binding legal act.

Developing and Securing Homeopathy Worldwide
The International Homeopathy Day (IHD) will take place for the third time, it
was initiated in 2010 and was then held for the first time in Slovenia, in 2011
the IHD was ccelebrated in Croatia, and in 2012 in Turkey. The personal presence
of executive LMHI representatives and their political support for "younger"
associations in homeopathically growing countries has proven a powerful and
important tool. The LMHI officials have repeatedly noted that the respect from
the government towards these associations increases in their presence. The LMHI
states that "In these projects, the LMHI fullfills really its purpose of
developing and securing homeopathy worldwide - as stipulated in its statutes".
The International Symposium on Homeopathy, held in Izmir, brought together important international and Turkish stakeholders to exchange information about

The Croatian Homeopathic Medical Society (CHMS), the European Committee for
Homeopathy (ECH) and the Liga Medicorum Homoeopathica Internationalis (LMHI)
jointly organized a very successfulInternational Symposium on Homeopathic
Medicine in Zagreb/Croatia on 24 March 2011 to celebrate the International
Homeopathy Day and to promote public and medical community's awareness of
homeopathy in Croatia. LMHI and ECH representatives gave lectures about
different aspects of medical homeopathy and provided political support in
meetings with Croatian Health Care officials. Among the national speakers were
Prof. Dr. sc. Damir Žubcic from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Zagreb
University, Ines Buhac, mr. ph., Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry at Zagreb
University. Also present were Mirjana Lerman from the Croatian Ministry of
Health and Social Care, and Ivan Žokalj, M.D., President of the Croatian Medical
Chamber Working Group for Complementary Medicine Regulation. The symposium was
hosted by Dr. Jelka Milic, President of the Croatian Homeopathic Medical Society
and the LMHI's National Vice President for Croatia. LMHI and ECH officials held
meetings with Croatian health policy officials to support and strengthen the
position of the Croatian homeopathic colleagues. The personal presence and
suppport of LMHI and ECH representatives for "younger" homeopathic associations
has - once again - proven a powerful and important tool. LMHI Past-President Dr.
Fischer reported that the respect towards the Croatian colleagues grew "wherever
we showed up" and added that "in these projects, the LMHI fullfills really its
purpose of developing and securing homeopathy worldwide - as described in its
statutes. The International Homeopathy Day took place for the second time, in
2010 it was held in Slovenia. The LMHI plans to continue holding the
International Homeopathy Day in different countries.
The LMHI Executive Officers Dr. Ulrich D. Fischer (Past President), Dr. Yves
Faingnaert (Treasurer) and Dr. Thomas Peinbauer (General Secretary), and ECH
President Dr. Ton Nicolai provided support and their help as representatives of
the international and of the European homeopathic medical society. More than 120
people participated in the International Symposium on Homeopathic Medicine
organized by CHMS President Dr. Jelka Milic, the LMHI's National Contact Person
for Croatia, and her homeopathic colleagues. The working languages were Croatian
and English, simultaneous interpretation was provided. The International
Symposium was moderated by Sanja Hrvojevic Beganovic.
The topics and lectures covered international aspects of homeopathy (LMHI and
ECH), as well as specific Croatian aspects, in particular in regard to national
legislation, registration of homeopathic remedies, and the homeopathic edcuation
of Medical Doctros (MDs). Dr. Peinbauer gave a presentation about "Homeopathy in
Austria", pharmacology and even the collaboration between the veterinarian
faculty of Zagreb and the homeopathic MD´s.
Before and after the symposium, the LMHI and ECH officials held meetings with
representatives from the Croatian Ministry of Health, from the national Drug and
Medical Products Agency as well as the Croatian Medical Chamber's Working Group
for CAM Legislation. These meetings took place in a positive and encouraging
atmosphere, strenthening the position of the Croatian homeopathic colleagues.

During the last 200 years, homeopathy has proven itself as a safe and effective
medical method. In addition to this fact, homeopathy is less expensive than
conventional medicine treatment. In 1997, the European Commission established
that more than 100 million, representing more than 22 percent of all European
citizens, had recourse to homeopathy. The World Health Organization (WHO) placed
homeopathy among five most often used non-conventional medical methods in the
world. In a majority of EU Member States (with the exception of Slovenia and
Sweden) homeopathy is part of regular medical practice carried out by
physicians.
