LMHI International Mentoring Program for Homeopathy Students

The LMHI International Mentoring Program is an international initiative developed by the Liga Medicorum Homoeopathica Internationalis (LMHI) to support homeopathy students through structured, experience-based mentoring relationships with experienced LMHI members.

The program is designed to strengthen the connection between students and the global LMHI community and to facilitate the transfer of professional experience, ethical orientation, and institutional understanding across generations.

This mentoring program is not an educational or teaching program. It does not replace academic training, clinical instruction, or supervision. Its purpose is guidance, orientation, and experience sharing.

🎯 Program Objectives

The LMHI International Mentoring Program aims to:

  • Support homeopathy students during their educational and professional development
  • Encourage early and long-term engagement with LMHI and its activities
  • Facilitate the transmission of professional experience and ethical values
  • Strengthen international collaboration and solidarity within the LMHI community
  • Increase awareness of LMHI’s mission, structure, and working groups
📌 Eligibility Criteria
Mentees (Students)

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be registered as student members of LMHI.
  • Be enrolled in a homeopathic education program that leads to eligibility for full LMHI membership upon graduation and licensing, in accordance with LMHI regulations.
  • Submit an application through the official LMHI Mentoring Program application process and formally commit to comply with the program’s terms and conditions.
Mentors

Mentors must:

  • Be full members of LMHI
  • Have professional experience in homeopathy
  • Be willing to provide guidance and orientation based on experience, not formal teaching
🤝 Nature of the Mentoring Relationship

Mentoring within this program is:

  • Guidance-oriented, not instructional
  • Non-academic, and does not involve teaching, grading, or supervision
  • Focused on professional orientation, ethical reflection, and institutional awareness

Mentor–mentee pairs meet a minimum of four times per year, primarily online. Communication takes place in English, or in a shared national language when both parties are from the same country.

🔎 Mentor–Mentee Matching

Mentor–mentee matching is coordinated by the LMHI Education Working Group, taking into consideration:

  • Language compatibility
  • Geographic and cultural context
  • Professional background and interests
đź“– Handbooks and Program Guidance

To ensure clarity, consistency, and quality, both mentors and mentees receive official LMHI Mentor and Mentee Handbooks. These documents define:

  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Ethical boundaries
  • Communication principles
  • Reporting requirements
đź’¶ Financial Support and Commitment

Selected mentees receive a yearly bursary of €100 to support their studies.

In return, mentees commit, upon graduation, to actively contribute for a minimum of four years to one of LMHI’s Working Groups. This contribution supports LMHI’s scientific, educational, or organizational activities.

If this commitment is not fulfilled, the bursary must be repaid to LMHI. A formal agreement is signed between LMHI and the mentee prior to participation in the program.

🏛️ Program Governance and Oversight

The program is supervised by a dedicated Mentoring Subcommittee operating under the LMHI Education Working Group.
