1. Homeopathy and Authorities

There were two main serious efforts to fully include Homeopathy into the National Health System one in 1985 by the minister of Health George Genimatas and a recent one in 2016 by the minister of Health Andreas Xanthos, yet this goal was not fully accomplished. Nevertheless:

1.     Greek Homeopathic Congresses are under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Health since decades

2.    Some years ago a Master’s Degree in Classical Homeopathy was conducted by the Greek University of Aegean.

3.    Several distinguished Professors of Pharmacology cooperate with Homeopathic Associations in the training program of homeopathic pharmacists and doctors.

4.  The Athens and Panhellenic Medical Doctors Associations support the practice of Homeopathy only by medical doctors. Homeopathic doctors are members of the Board of Directors of the above associations since many years.

5.  Homeopathic Remedies are fully legally registered and sold by many Greek Pharmacies according to the Greek and European laws. Since many years a licensed Greek Homeopathic Pharmaceutical Company produces homeopathic remedies from scratch in Greece.

6.    Any medical doctor can legally practice Homeopathy in Greece issuing homeopathic prescriptions. Some private insurance companies cover the expenses of the patient following homeopathic practice. Even non-medical laymen can practice Homeopathy accepted as professionals by the state as long as they pay their taxes.

2. Homeopathy and Education

Since decades the task of education in Homeopathy as well as the promotion of Homeopathy, is undertaken by the following Associations: Hellenic Homeopathic Medical Society (HHMS), founded in 1971. Has organized many Greek and World congresses. Recently, has undertaken the organization of the LMHI congress in 2028 in Athens. Member of LMHI and ECH and Accredited Teaching Center of ECH. Hellenic Association of Homeopathic Medical Cooperation (HAHMC), founded in 2002. Member and Accredited Teaching Center of ECH. Homeopathic Academy (HA), founded in 2013. Member of LMHI and ECH and Accredited Teaching Center of ECH. Hellenic Classical Homeopathic Dental Association (HCHDA), founded in 2008, member and Accredited Teaching Center of ECH. Hellenic Association of Homeopathic Pharmacists (HAHP), founded in 1988.
