Internationally qualified homeopathic practitioner courses were brought first into Hong Kong and Macau in 2008, and then later into Macau, Taiwan and Mainland China. The practitioner programme offered by the School of Homeopathy (UK) is fully accredited by the Homeopathic Medical Association and The Society of Homeopaths, the British representative on the European and International Councils for Classical Homeopathy. The Hong Kong Association of Homeopathy (HKAH) and Macau Association of Homeopathy (MAH) were founded by Prof. To Ka Lun Aaron in 2005. These two associations became member of the International Council for Homeopathy (ICH) in 2014 and 2015 respectively. The two associations organize regular homeopathic conferences and exhibitions, attracting an attendance of more than 3.000 people. Prof. Aaron TO Ka Lun received an Honorary Fellowship from the Faculty of Homeopathy UK in 2024. The two associations are also active in homeopathic research, and 6 peer reviewed papers has been published. Homeopathy is not a statutory medical system in China (including Macau, Taiwan and Hong Kong). But more governmental support in the development of traditional and complementary medicine in China is seen in the last few years. The first international symposium of Homeopathy in China, co-organized by the Shanghai Academy of International Standardization for Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was held in September 2024, definitions of the core principles of homeopathy and standards for education and research in homeopathy were widely discussed. Both the TCM and Homeopathy expert teams agree that homeopathy is an important global Traditional & Complementary Medicinal system, and that it plays an important role in maintaining health and diagnosing and treating diseases. In December 2024, a WHO co-organized conference for traditional and complementary medicine was held in Beijing, and it was the first time in our country that Homeopathy has been included as an important stakeholder. Prof. Aaron To was invited as a speaker and the local development of homeopathy has been presented.
